The 4" x 9" notepad is our tall list pad. Nine inches of height holds a long to-do list, and four inches of width leaves room for a checkbox plus a real line of writing. That makes it a natural fit for daily to-do pads, service checklists and door hanger notepads that a customer keeps on the counter long after you've left.

What are the common notepad sizes?
Most fall into four groups: small squares (3″ × 3″, 4″ × 4″), handheld pads (4″ × 6″, 5″ × 7″), desk pads (5.5″ × 8.5″, 8.5″ × 11″) and tall list pads (3.5″ × 8″ and this 4″ × 9″). We print 34 standard notepad sizes, and we can quote a custom size by phone.
What are the dimensions of a 4 x 9 notepad?
Each sheet is 4″ wide by 9″ tall (about 10.2 × 22.9 cm). Notepads keep a 1/8″ non-printable margin, so the printable area is about 3.75″ × 8.75″ unless you add Artwork Bleed in the price calculator to run color to the edge.
Which notepad size is best for a to-do list?
A tall, narrow pad, because a list runs down the page. A 4″ × 9″ sheet holds a long list and still leaves room to write a full line next to each checkbox. If your lists are short, a 4″ × 6″ notepad is the compact choice.
What's the difference between a 4 x 9 and a 4 x 7 notepad?
Both are 4 inches wide; the 4″ × 9″ is two inches taller, which means several more lines for a list or a form. The 4″ × 7″ notepad is shorter and easier to tuck in a drawer, and the 4″ × 8″ sits in between.
