A 4.25" x 11" notepad is a letter sheet cut in half the long way. Divide 8.5 inches by two and you get 4.25, and the height stays at the full 11 inches. The result is a tall pad that gives you a letter page's writing length in half the width, ideal for job lists, inventories, checklists and forms. Your logo and layout print in full color on every page.

Here's the math: a letter sheet is 8.5" × 11". Halve the 8.5" width and each piece is 4.25" × 11". You keep the long writing column of a letter page, but the pad takes up half the room on a desk, a clipboard or a truck dashboard.

Tall Notepad FAQs: 4.25" x 11" Custom Notepads
Why is a notepad 4.25 inches wide?
Because 4.25″ is exactly half of 8.5″. Cut a standard 8.5″ × 11″ letter sheet in half lengthwise and you get two strips, each 4.25″ wide and the full 11″ tall. That's the shape of this pad.
Is a 4.25 x 11 notepad the same as a letter-size notepad?
No. It's the same height as a letter sheet but half the width. If you want the full page, see our 8.5″ × 11″ letter-size notepads; this tall pad gives you the same 11 inches of writing length in half the desk space.
How much printable space is on a 4.25 x 11 sheet?
Without artwork bleed, a 1/8″ margin stays unprinted on every side, which leaves an area of about 4″ × 10.75″ for your design. Choose Artwork Bleed in the calculator if you want color or a pattern to run all the way to the trim.
Do contractors use tall notepads?
They can be a good fit. A tall sheet holds a project name, date and crew line at the top with plenty of ruled space for materials, measurements or punch-list items below. The Apex Construction pad in the photos is set up that way. Contractors can also leave a pad behind with a homeowner after an estimate.
Can I print a form or a checklist on a 4.25 x 11 pad?
Yes. Any layout you can draw can be printed on every sheet: labeled fields, numbered lines, checkboxes or a two-column table. Send a sketch or a PDF of the form you use now, and our designer will fit it to the strip at no charge.
Can the first sheet of each pad be different?
Yes. Choose Custom Printed Top Sheet in the calculator to put a separate design on the first page of every pad, such as a thank-you note or a welcome message. The sheets beneath it all carry your regular layout.
Can I put a magnet on a 4.25 x 11 notepad?
Attached magnetic backing is quoted by phone; call 888-268-7237. The calculator also shows a Notepad Magnet option marked "Yes (Not Attached)", so ask us what it includes before you choose it. Our Magnetic Notepads show other styles.
Is a tall notepad glued or sticky?
Glued. Sheets are bound with padding glue along the top edge and tear away cleanly; there's no adhesive on the back. For notes that stick to a surface, try our custom sticky notepads or Post-it® Brand custom sticky notes.
How many 4.25 x 11 notepads can I order?
